Qatar now allows foreign investors to own 100% of their company for most business activities — no local partner required. Here is how the process works when you set up with PROMIND.
1. Choose your business activity
Everything starts with the right activity. It decides your licences, your office needs and your costs. In a free consultation we look at your plans and recommend the activity and company structure that fit. Only transport-related activities still require a Qatari partner.
2. Reserve a unique trade name
Your company needs a trade name that is not already registered in Qatar. We check availability and reserve it for you.
3. Get your Commercial Registration (CR)
Once your unique trade name is approved, we can issue your CR within 24 hours. Your company now officially exists.
4. Arrange your office
Most activities need a registered office. You can take a desk or a private office in a business centre — a cost-effective way to meet the requirement. E-commerce businesses do not need a physical office.
5. Licence, establishment card and bank account
Next come your commercial permit and establishment card. With our premium service, your corporate bank account can be opened in 24–48 hours (subject to bank approval).
6. Visas and QID
Your company can start with 10 visas, and you can apply for 10 more once those are used. After you arrive in Qatar, your QID can be issued within 24 hours.
Setting up from outside Qatar
You do not need to be in Qatar to start. The company is registered on your passport, and you then travel to Qatar on your own company’s visa.
How much does it cost?
Costs depend on your business activity. As a guide, renewing a company with one activity costs around QAR 1,750. Government fees are paid in full — there are no instalments at renewal.
